‘Anti-virus 2009′ Virus Attacking PCs

Be aware that a variation of last year’s ‘Anti-Virus 2008 virus is attacking PCs and laptops.   We’ve had a number of clients call with issues.  The most common payload message we’ve seen is a “DHL tracking” email with an attachment.  People have opened what they thought might be shipping package only to have it unload its “package” on their PC.

This is taking some effort to remove, with a couple PCs requiring a complete rebuild.  We’ve been able to retrieve documents, settings and most other files but only after sanitizing them with several in-house tools.  If you are in the local area and would like us to work on this for you, please submit a service request from our ’service request’ page under the ‘Services’ tab.
